SIT Alumni Mixer: Forge New Connections and Revisit Old Friendships

A chance to step away from the daily grind and indulge in light-hearted nostalgia with fellow SITizens

On the evening of June 27, 2024, 79 SIT alumni gathered at Forest3 Darts Cafe for CheerS IT’s Thursday, a social networking event for SIT alumni. The event, designed to offer a relaxed and enjoyable environment, provided a perfect opportunity for the alumni to reconnect, unwind, and engage in meaningful conversations.

Forest3 Darts Cafe, with its inviting ambiance and ample space for interaction, set the stage for an evening of casual fun and networking. The event was hosted by Tan Lai Choon, an SIT alumni volunteer and the night featured a delightful buffet dinner, a variety of drinks, and entertainment options that included karaoke and a snooker table, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Tharmaraj Naidu Mylavaganam, an SIT alumnus from class of 2015, shared his thoughts on the evening. “I’ve been to a few other CheerS IT’s Thursday events previously and it’s a good way to reconnect with old batch-mates, make new friends and not forgetting the lecturers and professors, where we get to reminisce our younger days.” He shared further about the conversations he had with fellow SITizens at the event, “I’ve gained further insights on the economics and trends of the other non-engineering industries such as banking, IT, and healthcare, where fellow alumni shared about their working experience, their struggles and also the joy of working for their respective companies.” This exchange of professional experiences enriched the evening, highlighting the diverse paths and successes of SIT graduates.

Overall, this CheerS IT’s Thursday proved to be a resounding success, bringing together alumni in a setting that fostered both personal connections and professional growth. As the night drew to a close, the camaraderie and shared experiences underscored the lasting bonds formed during their time at SIT, reaffirming the strength and unity of the SIT alumni community.
