Raising a Glass to Knowledge and Connection

Participants immersed themselves in more than just flavours and notes, as they networked while delving into the art of wine appreciation.

Nearly 70 SIT alumni gathered in Holland Village for an enlightening wine appreciation workshop held over two evenings in May 2024. Organised by the SIT Alumni Leisure Network, the event at The Wine Place went beyond wine tasting – it was also an opportunity for the alumni to reconnect with other fellow SITizens and nurture their bonds.

Guided by an experienced sommelier, they explored different varieties of wine, honed their skills in identifying tasting notes, and discovered wines tailored to their individual palates.

The intimate setting of the restaurant also provided the perfect backdrop for rekindled friendships, shared laughter, and the creation of lasting memories for the SITizens.

For Mr Shawn Fu, a graduate from Class of 2023, the event was his first foray into alumni gatherings. He shared, “Learning about the intricacies of winemaking and food pairing was fascinating but the true highlight was the bond around the table – engaging conversations with fellow SITizens from various backgrounds!”

Ms Ow Pei Wen from the Class of 2019 echoed this sentiment. She said, “Thanks to the expert guidance from the workshop, my future wine experiences will be forever enriched. The combination of delicious food, insightful learning, and the chance to reconnect with fellow alumni made this event truly special.”
