Rocking and Dancing the Night Away

Good food, great company and exciting live performances to welcome our fresh SIT graduates from the Class of 2023 to the SIT Alumni family!

SIT’s newly graduated Class of 2023 celebrated their big graduation milestone at the New Alumni Welcome Party 2023 held at the Hard Rock Café in Orchard on 3 November. Many flaunted their creative style and came dressed in comfy denim with a touch of sparkle to fit the evening’s theme of ‘Denim & Diamonds’.

Organised by the SIT Advancement and Alumni Division, the event was attended by over 260 alumni, SIT senior management, faculty members and staff, as well as representatives from SIT’s Overseas University partners.

Professor Chua Kee Chaing, SIT President, kicked off the fun-filled evening with a congratulatory toast to welcome the new graduates.

The attendees were treated to live musical performances by SIT’s very own alumni band, SIT Muzeka, and party band, The Mad Trio, as they feasted on a delectable buffet spread of food and beverages. Before the best-dressed alumni and lucky draw winners were announced, SIT’s student dance club, SIT D’Streak Flo, took centre stage and captivated the audience with a display of sleek and dynamic dance moves.

New SIT alumnus Mr Frank Lloyd Ventura Gacayan from Civil Engineering (in photo above), who was presented with a ‘best dressed’ prize, said he signed up for the new alumni party up to welcome the new batch of alumni as well as to catch up with classmates and lecturers. He added: “I hope that older alumni can join these welcome parties as well as it’s a great opportunity for new graduates to network with peers our age who are already in the workforce.”

Mr Toh Kuen Lin, another SIT alumnus from Hospitality Business, said: “This is a fantastic reunion! The atmosphere buzzed with laughter and nostalgia as I caught up with old friends and professors. It was heartening to see the diverse paths everyone had taken since graduation, and I look forward to having more meaningful connections through the SIT Alumni network!”
