Commemorating SIT’s 10-Year Journey with a Carnival Bang

SIT’s 10th anniversary celebration on 28 March is a night to remember, as SIT’s campus lights up in celebration of SIT’s 10th anniversary as an Autonomous University.

The sound of laughter and cheers echoed the campus from as early as 4pm, as early birds perused the sprawling flea market excitedly to find everything from unique handicrafts, handcrafted jewelry, clothing to art prints from local artisans. After filling their bags with buys, they headed over to try their hand (and luck) at classic carnival games, hoping to hit the top score and show off their skills.

Organised by SIT’s Office of Student Experience and the Advancement & Alumni Division, the SITizen Celebration saw a terrific turnout of 724 students and 168 alumni congregating at the SIT@Dover campus.

As the day progressed, the main stage became the focal point of celebration, uniting students, faculty, and alumni for an unforgettable evening of entertainment and surprise performances. Professor Chua Kee Chaing, SIT President; Professor Tan Thiam Soon, SIT Institute Professor; Mr Ronnie Tay, SIT Deputy President (Administration) & Chief Financial Officer; Professor John Thong, SIT Deputy President (Academic) & Provost; Mr Bernard Nee, SIT Deputy President (Industry & Community); Mr Tsoi Mun Heng, SIT Vice President (Planning); and Associate Professor Ivan Lee, SIT Vice President (Innovation), were also present to interact with SITizens.

One of the most anticipated moments of the night was the surprise live band performance by Benjamin Kheng, bringing everyone together in a shared experience of music and smiles. To add an extra touch of excitement to the star-studded evening, MediaCorp Artistes made an appearance on stage, interacting with attendees and posing for pictures.
