An Inter-Cluster competition of mind, body and finger reflexes
Rallying under their academic clusters, SITizens pit their wits against one another in challenges of physical, mental and electronic sports at the Inter-Cluster Games (ICG) 2024
It may not be the Olympics or the SEA games, nonetheless the participants of Inter-Cluster Games (ICG) 2024 faced a herculean task, to bring pride and honour to their academic clusters (Business, Communication and Design, Engineering, Food, Chemical and Biotechnology, Health and Social Sciences, and Infocomm Technology).
Held on 1 and 2 March 2024, 37 alumni represented their respective clusters and teamed up with current students, faculty, and staff to compete in various sports and e-sports, such as Badminton, Basketball, Captain’s Ball, Chess, Xiang Qi, Cuesports, Dodgeball, Futsal, FC 24 and Mobile Legends. SITizens also had fun customising their very own personalised SIT alumni thermos flask.
After an intense 2-day marathon of games, the Health and Social Sciences (HSS) Cluster emerged as the biggest winner, reclaiming the overall champion this year!
Alumnus Timothy Tham from Class of 2013 quipped, “It was an enjoyable experience to participate in such an event, as I forged new bonds of friendship with alumni from different clusters and cohorts. It also felt like a blast to the past, to play alongside with the young undergraduates. To my surprise, I was still able to blend in as one of them and I had lots of fun throughout the day.”

At work and even at play, SITizens focus and aim for perfection.
Strategic battles of chess and e-sports are fought, on screens and on table-top boards.
Happy and smiling faces, as camaraderie, bonds and forged friendships were the main takeaways for ICG 2024 participants.
