The SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme shows no signs of slowing down, progressing promptly from Cycle 5 to Cycle 6 in 2023
The SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme has kept its participants busy, with a multitude of physical networking sessions to ensure that they stay connected and communicated. The programme has shown a steady increase in participation, with 83 mentors matched with 116 mentees in this latest cycle.

10 January 2023 - An Evening to Remember for Cycle 5 Mentors
The Cycle 5 Mentors Get-Together, the first mentoring event of the year, was held at Projector X: The Cathay on Tuesday, 10 January 2023.
The night saw the Mentors networking over a delicious buffet dinner. The special Mentors Sharing Session featured a panel of three alumni mentors: Mr Hariz Yet, Research and Development Specialist, Future Communications Research & Development Programme, Ms Beatrice Lim, Deputy Centre Director, Busy Bees Asia, and Mr Wilson Chua, Human Resources Partner Lead (SEA), Accenture.
Drawing from their experiences as mentors on the SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme as well as other external programmes, the trio spoke about the importance of advocating for one’s Mentees and thinking about how to lead the latter onto the right path. Mr Yet, who graduated from the Computer Science & Game Design degree programme, said, “It’s important for Mentees to have ownership over the decisions that they make. Mentors can light up the path, but mentees choose the path that they take.”
15 February 2023 - Staying on Track at the Mentoring Social
Ahead of the conclusion of Cycle 5 by April 2023, Cycle 5 Alumni Mentors and Student Mentees were invited to a Mentoring Social event at co-working space WeWork for a networking session over dinner.
A casual sharing session was conducted, where participants spoke about their experience on the programme so far. This was also a chance for them to share feedback about how the programme could be improved moving forward.
15 March 2023 - Level(ing) Up with Networking!
Having a good network is known to be very useful, especially for a working adult. With this in mind, Alumni Mentors and Student Mentees from all five cycles of the SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme were invited to the inaugural SIT Alumni Networking Night on Wednesday, 15 March 2023.
Over 80 mentors and mentees from all cycles enjoyed a lively atmosphere with food and drinks at Level Up, a retro-themed arcade bar at Clarke Quay. Playing classic arcade games such as Foosball, air hockey and even a few rounds of pool was the perfect way to get to know each other and form new connections without the pressures of formal networking.
