ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY AT SIT PUNGGOL CAMPUS
You may visit the Library and use the hard copy materials in the Collection Area on Level 5, or scan needed content within the copying limit of the Singapore Copyright Law.

ACCESS TO E-RESOURCES
You can access more than 85% of the electronic resources using the Specialised Terminals on Level 4 of the Library. A few of these eResources are available off-campus**. Here are some of the resources that often prove popular with alumni:

Need help to find resources for your work or personal research? Get in touch with Librarians who can provide information consultation services via Zoom and email. Besides SIT Library resources, we can also point you to other relevant resources that you can access for free or for a fee. For example, the National Library Board (NLB) offers free access to a large number of electronic resources for Singaporeans and Singapore PRs. See here for details.
*The Library is not permitted to provide Alumni with access to many of the online resources OFF-campus because of the terms of the publisher license agreements.
It was incredibly insightful when my mentor Jun Liang, invited a former mentee to one of our sessions. Hearing both of their experiences firsthand was brilliant because, as Eleanor Roosevelt said, ‘Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.’ This session wasn’t just advice; it felt like I got a fast-track look into potential paths and pitfalls, which has made me think much more strategically about my own future.

I was really grateful by how my mentor Shawn, went the extra mile to support me with an assignment. He actually reserved a room at his workplace so I could properly present my ideas and talk through the challenges in that formal setting. Getting his feedback in that professional setting was invaluable – he pointed out things I hadn’t considered and suggested concrete improvements that made a real difference to the project’s direction and my confidence in it.

Alumni mentoring programme serves as a great opportunity to be connected with SIT family. I served as alumni mentor during cycles 2 &3. My student mentees were from the disciplines of physiotherapy, and criminology and security respectively. My expertise is in the fields of nursing and clinical research. However, through mentoring sessions, I learnt and appreciated the intersections between our disciplines. I enjoyed interdisciplinary mentoring as it allowed me to think of care plans from the perspectives of a physiotherapist for an example. Additionally, our interdisciplinary conversations emphasized the importance of collaborations and networking to maximise impact of health outcomes and educational research.

Mentorship isn’t a solo journey, it has also provided me with improvements and areas of growth on how to communicate with people, as well as methods to provide clearer guidance on what people want in their life and career.
