2025 in Review: A Year of Reconnecting, Recharging, and Celebrating Our SITizen Community

2025 was a year of connection for the SITizen community. From runs and mentoring to movie nights, workshops, and Industry networking — and culminating in a vibrant SITizen Day homecoming — alumni came together to reconnect, rediscover, and celebrate what it means to belong.

If there was one word to describe 2025 for our alumni community, it would be connection. Across tracks and theatres, classrooms and coffee tables, SITizens showed up — to reconnect, to grow, and to celebrate what it means to belong.

It was also a milestone year for SIT, as the University settled into its new home at the Punggol campus, giving alumni a fresh setting to return to and rediscover.

Here’s a look back at some of the moments that made 2025 special for our alumni network.

Starting the Year Strong: SITizen Run

We kicked off the year on a high note with the SITizen Run. Alumni, students, staff, friends, and family came together to hit the track, cheer one another on, and celebrate movement and community. Whether sprinting, jogging, or walking the route, the energy was undeniable.

The excitement continues — SITizen Run 2026 is now open for sign-ups. If you missed the run last year, this is your chance to lace up and be part of the next one. Registration for the Physical Run/Walk (10KM/5KM) closes on 14 January 2026, while the Virtual Challenge registration remains open until 9 February 2026.

Building Meaningful Connections: SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme

Throughout the year, our SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme created meaningful space for alumni mentors to guide and support students as they navigated their next steps. Through one-to-one conversations, shared experiences, and honest career advice, mentors offered both practical guidance and personal insights. This year also marked the successful completion of our 10th mentoring cycle – a milestone that reflects the strength of a community that continues to grow by lifting one another and paying it forward.

Reconnecting Through Shared Experiences

Sometimes, the simplest gatherings leave the strongest impressions. Alumni Movie Nights brought SITizens together over a shared film experience, popcorn, and post-show conversations.

Meanwhile, our Alumni Networks brought connection to life in different forms — from spin classes with the Alumni Sports Network, to matcha appreciation sessions with the Alumni Leisure Network, and professional networking opportunities through the Alumni Career Network.

Alumni Base Station: A Space to Connect

The Alumni Base Station also emerged as a vibrant home base for SITizens in 2025. From Game Nights and festive celebrations to tea appreciation sessions and hands-on workshops like candle and music box making, the lounge became a welcoming space for alumni to reconnect and recharge — a reminder that they always have a place to return to.

The Highlight of the Year: SITizen Day on 17 October

The biggest celebration of the year was undoubtedly SITizen Day held on 17 October. Alumni returned to campus for a day of connection, nostalgia, and shared pride. Graduates from different cohorts reunited with old friends, forged new connections, and explored the new campus together with a palpable buzz of excitement.

The campus came alive with interactive photobooths, community showcases, and guided campus tours that invited alumni to experience the new campus together. Sports activities, friendly tug-of-war matches, and playful game booths brought out the collective SITizen spirit. Food and drink stations kept conversations flowing late into the day — with the ever-popular Milo truck drawing its own queue of smiles. As evening fell, the day’s celebrations culminated in vibrant outdoor performances by our performing arts clubs, giving alumni a joyful and memorable finale.

From these shared experiences to heartfelt conversations and laughter, SITizen Day was a powerful reminder that being a SITizen is more than a student experience — it is a lifelong identity. The sense of belonging in the air made it a true homecoming for our alumni community.
