Timing, Duration, Commitment
The 6-month long SIT Alumni Mentoring Programme takes place semiannually, commencing in March and September each year. Mentors and mentees are expected to fulfill the following requirements:
- Minimum 15 hours of interaction, including but not limited to email, phone, and at least 2 face-to-face meet-ups
- Initiate communication with your mentor/mentee if you have not heard from him/her for an extended period of time, e.g. 3 weeks
- Actively participate in Mentoring Programme events organised by SIT
During my experience mentoring both my mentees, I was able to learn about their lives and how they dealt with their problems. I felt that it was an enriching experience for me as a mentor to be able to learn from them as well.
I highly recommend our current and future SIT Alumni to participate in this program simply because there is so much opportunity to learn both as a mentor and as a mentee.
